Policril AK is a water dispersion of an acrylic polymer with carboxylic groups and special monomers in the macromolecular chain. It is used as associative thickener in several formulations. Policril AK is a whitish water dispersion at a very low viscosity. When the pH is raised to values higher than 7.5, the polymers swells and it gets soluble in water thanks to the formation of carboxylated anions. This gives a large increase of viscosity.
